Nate Books: The Great Inhibinator

A Book for Children With Hemophilia & Inhibitors

Help your child overcome negative feelings about their inhibitor diagnosis.

The Great Inhibinator was written to help children living with hemophilia and an inhibitor deal with their feelings. Six-year-old Nate, the main character, finds a way to feel powerful despite his inhibitor diagnosis. He turns frustration and helplessness into a fun trick-or-treating event for his whole family.

At the end of the book, there is a “Note for Parents.” It explains how to use The Great Inhibinator to discuss feelings and open communication between parents and children.

The Great Inhibinator is the second book in Diplomat’s original “Nate” series. These three books are available to all members of the bleeding disorders community:

  • I Am Nate!, for preschoolers learning the basics of hemophilia
  • The Great Inhibinator, written to help children overcome negative feelings about an inhibitor diagnosis
  • It’s Always About Nate, which aims to help siblings understand a bleeding disorder in their family
