Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy Assists Patients With Multiple Medication Mgt

17 November 05

Flint, MI (Diplomat Corporate Offices) November 17, 2005 – Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy announced today the launch of its CarePak™ medication compliance program featuring the Medicine -On-Time® personal prescription system for transplant patients and patients afflicted with HIV/AIDS.

“When patients take their medication on a regular basis, as prescribed by their physician, they will stay healthier…longer,” stated Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy President, Phil Hagerman. “Medication misuse is costing our nation billions every year.” Hagerman went on to say that the most common types of misuse are: failing to have prescriptions filled as directed; taking incorrect dosage; taking drugs at the wrong time; forgetting doses and stopping a medication too soon.

The Diplomat CarePak provides the patient with all of his/her medications in reusable color-coded “Calendar Cards” which aid the patient in complying with his/her medication schedule and eliminates the guesswork as to whether a particular dose of medication was taken or not. Packages will be assembled and distributed nationally from Diplomat’s national distribution center in Cleveland.

Patients enrolled in Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy’s HIV/AIDS Care and Transplant Care Programs, respectively, will have the option of receiving the Diplomat CarePak at no additional cost.
