Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy Provides National Oncology Management Program
14 September 06
Flint, Mich., Sept. 14, 2006—Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy announced today that their Oncology Navigator Program is available nationally and currently benefits doctors and patients in many states across the country. The program offers: insurance prior authorization assistance, special adherence packaging, reminder calls for refills and home delivery.
“Our Oncology Navigator Program is a bridge between the doctor, health plan and the cancer patient,” stated Mark Neville Vice President of Oncology. “When a person is hit with a cancer diagnosis it is hard enough. But the medicine regimen and expense can be overwhelming- not to mention remembering when to take what pill. We calendar- pack the pills to ease confusion and increase adherence. Our clinical Patient Care Coordinators call each patient, we provide home delivery and we have a team member dedicated to uncovering any available financial assistance. We help patients get access to necessary medications and then help them stay on course with treatment. Our program simplifies a complex therapy, increases adherence and increases clinical outcomes.”
Phil Hagerman, President of Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy stated, “Over thirty percent of cancer patients are not educated or are improperly educated about their situation. The Diplomat Oncology Navigator Program helps both patient and doctor through cancer treatment. Clinical data proves that when patients are personally coached or managed, they become more adherent in taking their medication and have a more positive response to therapy.
