Dr. Atheer Kaddis

Vice President of Managed Markets

Dr. Kaddis is a graduate of the Doctor of Pharmacy program at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. He has extensive experience in clinical pharmacy practice including several years as Staff Pharmacist at William Beaumont Hospital in Troy, Michigan and as Clinical Pharmacy Specialist – Oncology at Grace Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. He also has several years of experience in the community pharmacy setting.

Dr. Kaddis joined Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan in 1997 as Clinical Program Manager focusing on Provider Education. He has also held a position as the Dedicated Pharmacist for Ford Motor Company in addition to accepting the responsibility for Drug Information within the Pharmacy Services department at BCBSM. Dr. Kaddis has also held a position as Associate Director, Clinical Services at Merck-Medco (now Medco) and recently served as the Director of Pharmacy Services, Clinical at BCBSM.

As Director of Pharmacy Services – Clinical, Dr. Kaddis was responsible for the development and implementation of the specialty pharmacy program, development of the prescription drug formulary, development of clinical pharmacy programs, drug information, provider education, and customer liaison activities.

Dr. Kaddis also had additional responsibilities as Director of Clinical Program Development and was responsible for pay for performance programs, network development, continuous quality improvement collaboratives, and corporate health care education, in addition to clinical pharmacy services.

Dr. Kaddis is a member of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy Program Planning and Development Committee and is also a member of the Michigan Pharmacists Association.
